"Our trio's down to 2"- (In Timon's voice from Lion King)
Hola hola!
Well this week was a little jank...
I killed my first companion. Hermana Raymond finished her mission and is back
home in Spokane Washington. RIP. Really a little sad to have her go but I get
to stay with Hermana Bowers and I think we are going to see lots of miracles
this transfer!
Monday we had a little farewell
dinner with a couple people from the group for Hermana Raymond at Los Altos.
Dad this story is just for you. Well... for those of you who don't know... my
biggest weakness is chips and salsa. I lose all sense of willpower when they're
in front of me. I wish I was kidding. I got carnitas and when it came out I was
so full.. but ate half of it. José looked at me and was chuckling and said
"ahahahah I am impressed... I can't believe you even ate that much because
of how many chips you ate."
I hope everyone had the happiest
Halloween!! Ours was so fun! We had district meeting in the morning and we all
came dressed up. The 3 of us went as Vaqueras. Miguel one of the recent
converts is a bull rider and let us borrow his chaps and hats and I felt so
legit. I felt like I had to keep a straight face and stay mean muggin to keep
it real. Keeping it real Hispanic I had a picture of Jesus on my left leg and Virgin
Mary on the right. It was so fun. Afterwards we sang at Goosecreek Manor (old folk’s
home) and I don't know why we sound so bad. You'd think 10 missionaries could
sing on tune...no...seriously it's bad. It's probably a good thing the people
can't hear very well... because it's just not pretty.
Wednesday, we drove Hermana Raymond
to transfers. So sad to see her go... our trio... is now only 2. These last
couple days have been so weird!!!!! There must be something in the air. I
was sick this last weekend and yikes it was the worst. Everything I ate just
went right through me... we'd be driving and we would have to stop at a gas
station. It got progressively worse and I just felt achy. Ahhh, it was so
frustrating. On Saturday Hermana Bowers was suggesting that we change the night
around and it'd be good if I just try and sleep it off. I just prayed to
Heavenly Father and said "Listen Heavenly Father. I really feel like
crap... but we have some important lessons tonight and people to see. Help me
out." So, we left the house and slowly and slowly I felt better. During
all of our lessons, I didn't even remember I was sick. We had a lesson with the
“tres muchachos” and it was awesome. We were teaching them about the Book of
Mormon and why we study the scriptures. They all had such a desire to do it and
seriously it was such a cool lesson. The only thing holding them back is that
they feel like they have to know everything and every doctrine, and read the
whole Book of Mormon before they jump in. They're some of my favorite people
and are so funny. They all leave back to Mexico on Dec 8. Hoping we can help
them before they go.
I hope y'all have a good week!
Con mucho Amor
