Hurricaneeeeeeeee 😱

BREAKING NEWS!! Hurricane Florence is kicking us out of our area!!! It's going to hit Myrtle Beach pretty hard so please, please keep the people here in your prayers. It is supposed to hit the coast Thursday as a Category 4 hurricane (140 MPH winds). All of the missionaries near the coast are being evacuated. We are headed to Columbia for a couple days. Hopefully we can come back soon.
Other than that, it was a pretty good week. Esmeralda is so ready to be baptized but due to the recent turn of events... we had to move her baptism to hopefully next week.
Ahh milagro... David's mom is here from Mexico. She was so awesome and we were so happy she was supportive of him. She came to all 3 hours of church and participated in Relief Society as we translated for her. It was honestly amazing. She brought us gifts from Mexico from David. It was really really sweet. He gave us each a bracelet that he felt represented our testimonies and our friendship, mine was Moroni 8:3. 😊
Saturday, we had bad news that morning and then the entire day fell through on us. We just tried to smile a little brighter but it was really tough. We ate our packed pb&j sandwiches on the Boardwalk and kept on working. We definitely saw the hand of the Lord guiding us along and sending tender mercies.
Also, I received a leadership calling. I am on the Spanish Council. Which means nothing to y'all because it's only in this mission. But it means I am leadership over the Spanish missionaries in the mission. So in couple weeks, we have Spanish council and we will be in charge of running it and coordinating it all. I will also do call ins. It'll be fun and I'm excited about it! So Hermana Jones was on Spanish Leadership and I took her place. We have a couple zones that we are in charge of in the mission. I am over Greenville/Greenville East.
God loves us and is so so good to us! Pray for the East coast and for Esmeralda. 😊
Los quiero mucho!

This is a update from Heather's Mission President regarding the hurricane-
Parents, this is the latest information that we have sent out to the missionaries. This should answer a lot of questions that you might have. We are bringing the sisters from Shallotte NC inland tonight, just to be safe, but everyone else will come in tomorrow which should be well ahead of the storm.
Elders and Sisters,
Nothing has changed much with the path of Hurricane Florence. It is expected that it will be a category 4 (very powerful and dangerous) by the time it reaches land late Thursday, and right now it is looking like it will make landfall very near Myrtle Beach although Charleston is likely to have dangerous winds and flooding. We are planning on interviews in the Greenville Zone tomorrow, but all other calendared events are cancelled so I can pay full attention to events as they unfold. Following is the Zone by Zone plan, at least for now (remember Hurricanes are very unpredictable):
Conway and Charleston - EVERY missionary will be evacuated to the Columbia area. We are planning on that happening Tuesday (you will be notified of the exact time and where you will be staying by your Zone Leaders). In preparation please do the following today:
1. Buy just enough groceries to get you by for the next four days and buy items that you can bring with you to eat while in Columbia. Don't leave food in your refrigerator when you leave.
2. Prepare your apartment. Bring in bicycles and anything normally left outside. If you live on the ground floor put anything of value as well as your media on a counter top. If you have unopened cases of Book of Mormons bring them in with you. Leave the air conditioning on and lock the door when you leave.
3. Bring enough clothing for 5 days including proselyting and work clothes. Bring small bags so you have room in case you are bringing other Elders. Bring your bedding and pillow as well.
4. Make sure your mobile phone and tablets are fully charged and bring the chargers. We will communicate via phone, messenger and text during the storm.
5. Bring any personal items such as contacts, prescriptions, valuables and any other things you will need while you are gone.
Columbia and West Columbia - Several of you may be housing missionaries so prepare your apartments for two other guests. Thursday through Saturday are the days most likely to have high winds and storms. We will notify you if and when we will be in lock down. Make sure you have plenty of food and water in case you are inside for a day or two. Keep your cell phones charged and stay in contact with your mission leaders.
Greenville and Greenville East - We hope that you will only be minimally effected by the storm but that could change. Be ready for a lock down if things change. Keep your phones close by so you can receive updates and instructions from your leaders.
This is a potentially dangerous situation, and you need to take this seriously so we can protect your health and safety. This is the time to be spiritually prepared as well as temporally. Please continue to pray for our mission as well as the missionaries that might be affected by the Hurricane. Let's use this as a time to look out for one another and stay close to our members and priesthood leaders so we can care for each other during this unpredictable time.
Please let your parents know that we will have daily updates on the parents Facebook page so they will know what is going on here.
Love,
President Innes
