God
is good alllllll the time.
One of the Best things that happened this week was Raquel. Her family is
from the Dominican Republic. We met her Monday night and went back on Tuesday
for a lesson. She saw us and immediately let us in and just asked us how this
all worked. She was holding her Book of Mormon we'd given her the night before
and just wanted to know everything. We taught her the Restoration and she just
really was thinking about everything we were talking about. We got to the Great
Apostasy and she just was really confused and asked what happened. We told her
about Joseph Smith and we'd talked to her Monday about the 5 big questions and
her biggest concern was if God hears and answers her prayers. We told her that
he answered Joseph and would answer her. It was really powerful. Afterwards we
taught her how to pray and receive answers. While we were leaving she stopped
us and said "I just want you to know that when you told me about the Book
of Mormon and it being a record of the people outside of Jerusalem in the
Americas. I knew it was true. I knew God wouldn't just talk to part of the
world." We both left like giddy excited. She is so awesome and we get to
meet with her again before the JWs go back. One of the coolest things about
this was on Sunday night I had been thinking about our investigators and
they're all kinda eternigators (eternal investigators). I just prayed and
pleaded with Heavenly Father telling him that I know there are people ready NOW
and that I needed his help to find them. Next day. Raquel.
Thursday we were going to meet with Domingo. Well that was a little
awkward. His wife is a member and he's been studying a lot of different things.
We walked in and there is another JW. He was really nice to us and Hermana
Vargas saved us by just pulling her into another room and talking with us
there.
Exchanges!! I went on exchanges with Sister Nordby. She is so funny and
basically I just laughed at everything she said all day. But I was really
excited because at Zone conference and stuff we always do roll plays for Bible
referrals (Spanish missionaries never get them). So I got to do my first Bible
referral. It was everything I imagined giving someone a free Bible would be. We
also did contacting in the rain and Sister Nordby informed me that contacting
in the rain gets you a hotter husband. So I guess only time will tell on that
one.
We have a new family that we are teaching and they have 7 children. I
was going to the lesson and kinda stressing because that is a lot of children
and a lot of times kids just can't focus or will be all over the place. During
the lesson, we taught the restoration with the pamphlet and had them tell us
what they saw in each picture. It just hit me really hard during that lesson
why we are told to be like little children. They have so much faith and are
closer to God than any of us.
Robert. Wow what a confusing guy. We finally had a pass off lesson with
the YSA Elders, but then Robert attended the family ward and liked it better.
So we had to have them send him back hahahah. But on Sunday after church the 6
missionaries in our ward got to go to his Grandma's house who is a member and
have a little fiesta. We are all talking to Robert and he was asking us
questions and we are all answering. Usually I would say 6 missionaries and 1
investigator would be a BAD idea. But he loved it and we almost put him on date
and he's really progressing now.
GOOD NEWS!!! Hermana Jensen and I are staying together here in Boiling
Springs. :)) We are really excited. They just started another Spanish Group in
the Greenville 2nd ward and now we are working both of them as best we can. We
are just excited to have another transfer together in the area because we love
it here.
I love being a missionary. Sometimes it is really discouraging but
watching people change their life around and find joy in the gospel is the best
thing ever.
Update on Hermana Jensen's foot
after the trampoline injury last week. She's fine and just had to walk it
off.
Que tengan una linda semana. :) (You
have a beautiful week)
Con mucho amor
