GRINGO!!!
Holaaaaaaaaa!!
I have a joke for y'all. A Mexican and an American are stopped at a
stoplight. The light changes but the American doesn't move. The Mexican looks
over and shouts "Hey.. GRINGO."
Hope y'all have had the best
week.
We always have lots of little miracles throughout the week that make
life so good! This week we got to meet with our investigator Edith. Her husband
is a less active member and she is so awesome. We have met with her a lot and
we just adore her. She's kinda like a mom to us. We watched her cook and
watching her make tortillas was one of the most mesmerizing things I have ever
witnessed. But she is really progressing. We asked her if she'd read what we
asked her to and she just was saying "Yes of course!! And I am asking God
every day if this is the path he wants me to take!" She really has such a
sweet desire to learn and do what God wants of her. She just really wants to know.
So a couple weeks ago, we had one of the coolest lessons ever with
Enrique. But since then whenever we pass by he hasn't been home!!!! We visit
with his wife and father in law... But they aren't as interested. We FINALLY
got to see him!!! We started by reading with him in the Book of Mormon. He
didn't really remember where he was at and so we were like shoot... He's
completely put it out of his mind. But then at the end we were talking with him
and asking if he had questions and he surprised us!!! His questions ranged from
"How many volumes of the Book of Mormon are there?" to "What is
the everlasting gospel?" and "What is the spirit of revelation?"
It was so cool!!!
This week we also had a tonnnnn of service!! We painted Cecilia’s fence
for her. Such a nice pretty fence huh? The Elders really helped us out and came
and painted it with us.
Fun MMA story. Sometimes we do Karate and are kicking a punching bag and
other times we do Brazilian jujitsu. We have always just practiced but
this time Josh (the guy who teaches us and one of the guys the other sisters
are working with) wanted us to roll. So we went to the square and we tried to
take each other down. I know I am really competitive. I hate losing.. That side
came out of me. Josh kept saying "You are weirdly good at this" and I
had flashbacks of wrestling with Amy and always thinking I was winning
hahahaha.... Don't worry. Nobody got hurt. :)
We've been trying to find effective ways to teach families and kids
(because almost everyone we are currently teaching is a family and we need to
involve the kids.) So we have gotten a little creative. With the Hernandez
family, we painted prayer rocks to help them remember to pray. They loved it
and thought they were so cool. I once again realized art is not my hidden talent
or talent at all.... Mine was so bad in fact that Tina gave me hers, and she is
going to paint another one out of my rock.... :)
Have a blessed week!
Con mucho amor
