Hurricane Michael (John Clark)

Hola hola fam,
It was a much more positive week this week. We saw lots of little miracles and they kept us going. This really is a good area and there are people that are receptive!!
Presidente Innes came to our mission coordination to help our leaders catch the vision of our role in their ward. The Rama is really focusing on less actives right now. We've got about 20 consistent people coming on Sundays. The rama set a goal to have 4 baptisms this year, and then in that meeting we set a goal to increase our Sunday attendance by 10. So we've got a 4 baptism goal and 6 returning members. It's totally possible and we have faith to accomplish it hahah.
So last week we reached out to a lot of formerly active member. I felt prompted to reach out to Griseyda. A couple days later Hermana Jensen emailed me to reach out to her! It was cool to see how that worked. We went out and saw her and she just pulled out her BOM and was so excited to learn more.
We had met a couple of people last week and showed up for our return appointment to find that they were all not there. We knocked on one guys house and he answered, it was Gilberto. He didn't seem very interested but we just bore our testimonies about the joy we've found in the gospel. (It was not at all a cool smooth door approach hah) On Saturday when we told him we'd come back, he was outside waiting and had lots of questions!! We went to the park and just talked about the Plan of Salvation and gave him a Book of Mormon. He's a really busy guy and gets home from work at like 8pm but just promised us that he'd give it a try because he wants to find a better life and we promised he could!!!
Hurricane Michael hah.. Luckily, we didn't have to evacuate! We just were put on lockdown for Thursday morning. I thought I was going to go nuts if they made us stay in any longer. The rain and winds hit us a lot more than Hurricane Florence did in Columbia. Hurricane miracle, Cesar wasn't at work! We were able to go and teach him and read in the Book of Mormon. I think it became a lot more real to him. We were pretty bold with him and it worked! The Spirit really touched him and he's praying about baptism!!!
There is this less active lady that the missionaries have worked with for YEARS. She loves the missionaries and she loves music. We went over and sang with her and shared Mosiah 16:9. Something just changed!! She looked at us differently and then said "Hermanas, when you were singing. I just kept getting this reoccurring thought that it's time for me to come back. Tal vez vale la pena!" I looked at Hermana Morgan and honestly had to elbow her because her jaw dropped hahahahhahaha.
Nothing too exciting this week! I know that this is God's work. No matter how hard it gets you can look around and see him guiding everything. He is always making sure we know his hand is stretched out to us. I love being a missionary!

Con mucho amor

We walked around the governor's mansion downtown today! So pretty.

Whenever we show up to teach Jose Luis he feeds us tacos

We ate at Takosushi and I got the crazy Susan roll. #shoutouttoHermanaJones
