Miss Gerdy Kissing Llamas
Holaaaaaa Familiaaaaaa y
Amigooos
Wow God is so so good to us. We had
a really awesome week.
Cesar is on date!!! We hadn't been able to see him all week because he
was getting off work at 8:30 every night! We finally got to see him in person
yesterday and we read 2 Nephi 31. We went through it really slowly and answered
the doubts and questions he had. He just kept saying how right this felt to
him! He had been praying about baptism and we asked him if he'd be baptized
November 10th and he has already learned a little about temple work and said,
"well.. I've already been baptized.. But I feel like there is so much more
here, and I need to be baptized for my Dad!!" We explained more about
baptisms for the dead and read some scriptures about it. He was so excited that
he would be able to do that and be a member of the church! It was so cute! Not
to mention that his cute little nieces and their friends silently played with
our hair during the lesson, and then went and gave him the biggest hug because
they were so excited for him.
On Thursday, we had a zone service project where we got to push old
people! Don't worry we weren't pushing old people over, we were pushing them
around the state fair. Hermana Morgan and I got to hang out with Miss Gerdy. At
first, she was the grumpiest old lady and just complained about her knee. She
also just continually prayed and prayed "Oh Lord" on repeat. We tried
to take her around and make her smile, nothing worked... until we got to the
petting zoo. She LOVED the animals. I thought she was going to try and take a
duckling home. We decided we'd try to go to all the animals she can touch.
right? We went through this "exotic" animal petting zoo. We're
walking around and she's loving it. The camel loved her, but not as much as the
llama. We went up to the llama and she kept reaching out for it and it wouldn't
come, so there was the sweetest little kid that gave her a carrot to feed it,
but she decided to feed herself. Needless to say, the carrot was halfway in her
mouth when the llama came and snatched it. Our sweet miss Gerdy graciously
shared her carrot, as I cried tears of pain and laughter. She was just happy as
can be. Needless to say, that was the last petting zoo we took her to. We stuck
to getting her some chicken and treats. Miss Gerdy can EAT!!!!!
This was just a good week with lots of little miracles. Sunday night we
were in Camden contacting and were able to teach the sweetest family. It was
cool to see how at the end of the week in the last couple hours of the night
God led us to Elida. We also had 13 people at our English classes both nights
and they're all really sweet. They were at different levels so we actually
taught a beginners and intermediate class. That was just a big miracle for the
area!!!!! We also had a couple of returning members go to church or express
even just the desire to go back.
Also suddenly it just got cold. Last week I was dripping sweat, and now
its freezing. So happy fall y'all.
God is so good to us and truly does
want to show us that this is his work and he will guide us and direct us in our
paths! I love being a missionary. I love being able to meet so many new people
and find and teach my friends. Oh also this is exciting, Elder Bednar is coming
to have a mission conference with us tomorrow!! I am like giddy excited. The
church is true y'all. I hope y'all have the very best week ever!!
Con mucho Amor
