Christmas
is all around
Feliz Navidad! Christmas time is upon us my friends!! We are so
excited! This week was really good and we just saw a couple of cool
miracles.
We went to Krispy Kreme with Alfredo. He was baptized several years ago
but since they moved here from California, he's had a really hard time. He
asked to meet with us and said "Listen. I've got some news." But he
said it in this super sad voice like, oh no, this is going to be bad news!! He
then said "Hermanas, it’s time I come back to church." I was doing
cartwheels, in my mind of course. We tried to play it off saying "Hey, we
are so happy for you, that's awesome!" He just said "You guys are not
hiding just how excited you are very well, you look like you're about to
explode." He was also so happy. It was cool to see how just no matter how
far gone we think we are, how many mistakes you have made, how hard your heart
has been, you can always ALWAYS come back.
We went to the Pulga (flee market) on Saturday! We spread the news about
“Light the World” and our English classes. My heart was just singing because it
was so fun and we met so many people and lots of people agreed to let us come
share Christmas messages in their home! WAHOO.
We had dinner with Presidente Acosta and his family and that was just
the biggest tender mercy for me!! Adjusting to a new area is always weird! We
went over and shared “Light the World” with his family. I LOVE THEIR FAMILY. I
don't remember the last time that I laughed that hard and we just felt the
spirit so strongly during the message. We have an awesome relationship with
them and so it makes everything we do in the branch easier.
My knee again is doing better and better! I still have avoided running
on it as much as possible. This last week, I played soccer at soccer night
again and running around on it didn't feel quite 100% right so I just took it
easy. It doesn't hurt too bad to kneel. If I kneel upward it is fine, but if my
knees are completely bent then that's not all the way comfortable. I have
stopped wearing the brace.
So I've actually been using a gym since July. :)) I was getting in
better shape in Myrtle.. But in the Branchs it’s been harder. I also haven't
been able to work out super hard because of my knee. I tried doing a squat this
week. it did NOT feel good haha. We get to go to the gym every morning for 30
minutes of exercise. Hermana Bechtold isn't super into the gym. She did dance
and stuff so she's in good shape, just differently. She really likes to
work hard. She's also very loving! It's been funny because she's very used to
having trainees and new companions that are still really learning Spanish and
missionary life. I think it's been a big adjustment for her to share the load
and let me help teaching and with EVERYTHING.
I hope y'all got to watch the Christmas
devotional and help light the world. When we light the life of someone around
us we also feel our own light illuminating. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and I
love being his missionary. Have the best week and enjoy all the Christmas
festivities and focus on the true meaning for the season.
LOVES
Hermana

Krispy Kreme. You're looking at the Ugly Sweater and Santa Belly editions. We teach way too many lessons at Krispy Kreme and I'm just praying I don't go home with a Santa Belly. |
