FELIZ AÑO NUEVO!!!!
I hope this new year brings y'all
the happiest one yet! This was such a fun week and so eventful wow.
Christmas was just full of all sorts
of little miracles. I would say the biggest and favorite was the Segura family.
A while ago they gave us a referral for Abigail and her family. We were
teaching her and came up with the idea of doing the 12 days of Christmas for
them! We got all the stuff together and she'd been dropping them off every day.
Occasionally, the Seguras would text us or tell us thanks for the cute
note/gift every day. On Christmas Eve, we had lunch with them and Abigail.
Abigail had to leave but brought the last gift for them to the door. We told
them that all along it had been Abigail. :) I wish I could bring you all to
that moment and let you watch the surprised faces of the Seguras. We had a good
relationship with them before, but you could watch all of their barriers fall
down. They were off all week and spent so much time with us. We spent Christmas
Eve with them; they helped us give a chapel tour, we all went up to Newberry to
do some visits, and we are now officially adopted into the family.
The Newberry visits. WOW. They were
really inspired. We went to Hermana Carmen's house. She lives so far and her
family goes to the English ward so it complicates it all a bit. She has just
about the sweetest spirit I've seen though. Presidente gave her a blessing and
she was so content. We also found her a ride from her "sweet angel
Pedro" so she can come to the branch. She got a shout out from Presidente
Segura during sacrament meeting and has been announced as the official
"Abuelita" of the West Columbia Branch.
Spanish Conference was great and
it's so liberating to have it all done. We did it a little different than we
have in the past and I thought it went really well. The dying jokes were all
endless, and I had to finish it off with my dying testimony. Honestly, it made
me reflect a lot on my mission and how precious it has been to me. I also
reflected a lot on the spiritual truths that Heavenly Father has allowed me to
receive and understand. Wow it has been so amazing and I love being a Spanish
Missionary in South Carolina. Before Spanish conference I was: 1) Absolutely
not okay to go home..EVER. 2) So sad that I only have a couple weeks left. The
spirit taught me a lot though and really gave me some animo, the spirit
confirmed that: I still have so much power to do good in these last couple
weeks. There are so many miracles to be seen and people I love to teach. Good
things come to an end so that God can help us continue progressing, and I have
to go home eventually. It sounds silly, but I needed to hear it!!!
EL RRRRRREY DAVID Y PABLITO. My
favorite buddies from Myrtle Beach came to visit. What a huge and happy
blessing for me. They went to the temple and David got to do baptisms for the
dead for the very first time. They were both just GLOWING. It filled my heart
with so much joy I thought I might explode. They're both doing really good and
now have a goal to go to the temple once a month together. :)
Ahhh man, there is so so much more. It was such a good week and I hope y'all
know I love y'all lots.
Con Amor
